Responsibilities
The News Producer is responsible for creating TV newscasts. This position will report to the Executive Producer.
oResponsible for the creation of newscasts and other news programs as needed
oWork directly with EP, Assignment Editor, Anchors, VJ's and production crews
oExecute Live Shots and Satellite Remotes during live newscasts
oSelect, assign, write and organize news stories
oRespond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy
oWill maintain an on-going breaking news story on the air
oCoordinate and plan future community and social story development
oWork with Video Journalists to improve story and presentation
oEditing skills to edit video clips
oWill write news scripts, promotional teasers, headlines and topicals
oWill serve as a back-up producer for other station newscasts or special programs
oWill work closely with EP on story/sweeps planning and coordination
Qualifications
/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
oBA or BS in Journalism or related field or equivalent experience
oMinimum 2 years producing live television broadcasts
oExcellent news judgment, creative ideas and writing skills a must
oMust be able to speak, read and write fluently in Spanish and must be able to speak, read and understand English
oMust have leadership qualities, be detail oriented, organized and able to handle intense deadline pressure

oMust be willing to work in San Antonio area and travel as needed for special assignments
oMust be willing to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends) and report to work in emergencies depending upon news coverage when necessary
oMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
oMust be 18 years or older
oMust have a valid driver's license
oMust be completely fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
oMust be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume (if applicable)
o Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
o Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
o Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols
